What happened to Ice Age Farmer?
Nothing good
This is not a happy post to write.
Ice Age Farmer wasn’t afraid to advocate for local, real food production and for people to prepare for a bumpy future. He set his target on the WEF and governments that are trying to strangle smaller honest famers, and was gaining a large audience and catching the ear of some influential podcasters and bloggers. His work was well-researched, and frankly he was very right about a lot of important things with respect to farming and food security.
Best guess, he caught the attention of some folks who don’t like people like us, and they decided they wanted him quiet no matter what.
In later November 2022, Ice Age Farmer (aka Christian Westbrook) abruptly stopped posting. His main method of communication with his followers and readers was his telegram channel, which appeared to be taken over by new mods who quickly started banning anyone who asked about Christian’s whereabouts or his safety and health. His twitter account was suspended, and his youtube channel had a bunch of WEF-critical and related videos taken down (but not the more innocuous ones). Podcasters who had met him in real life or had means of communicating with him claim he disappeared from them too — they have no idea where he is or what happened.
I have been checking periodically, every few months, to see if anyone has found any sign of him. Nothing has popped up, just more people asking the same questions I am. I fear the worst has happened to him, but I pray he just went “underground” to protect himself and his family, and he’s out there somewhere raising food. His first obligation is to his loved ones, and if continuing his public work jeopardized their safety, I certainly can’t blame him for seeing to their needs first.
Christian is a truth-teller, and we sorely need truth-tellers these days. If you’re out there and safe Christian, Godspeed.

Given his May 29th 2025 "return" on Telegram and discussion via a new substack:
I'm going to withhold judgment about whether that really is him or not. So far, there are tells in the writing that smack of inauthenticity, but it could also be that it is actually him and he's being cagey so as to protect himself. If that substack article is true, that he lost his job, his financial accounts and his homestead, then that would be ample reason to be quite careful.
His telegram has been criticizing AI, but some of the writing seems a bit like AI that is designed to mimic him. Again, I could be wrong, and I hope I am and that it's him, and he's safe and in better shape. If it really were him...why didn't he appeal to his listeners for help back when he disappeared? He would have had thousands instantly step up to the plate to float him through the turbulence. It's hard to ask for help, and it would have "doxxed" him further, so I suppose it's not so straighforward.

Hey Christian, if you’re reading: get rid of your moderators on Telegram, they’re wankers and they made things much worse. Anyone who asked about your status or safety they were banning and generally being pricks to. Anyone who starts doing the power trip thing should never, ever be made a moderator. They’re only going to cause you trouble.
